Guglielmo Vicario, a star player for Tottenham, looked to handle the ball outside the area against Brentford, leaving Bryan King perplexed when VAR did not step in.
The former Tottenham scout thinks the goalie might have been given a red card.
Midway through the second half, Vicario seemed to handle the ball outside the box as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium hosted Brentford 3-1 on Saturday, September 21.
Furthermore, King, who is only speaking to Tottenham News, finds it puzzling that nothing was done.
“The Vicario incident surprised me,” King remarked.
“He approached the cross with incorrect hands and proceeded beyond the box. He touched the queue for the first time. But he was a yard outside the penalty area on his third touch.
The player from Brentford is then the one with a booking for complaining. On the other hand, VAR took no action. Nothing was done regarding that handball outside the box.
“Who was present in the VAR room? Had they used the loo? Why Brentford didn’t receive a free kick eluded me.
Vicario would have been placed under arrest. However, nothing at all was done despite the potential that it was a red card.
Guglielmo Vicario escapes with one for Brentford vs. Tottenham?
If Vicario had been dismissed for his behaviour, the outcome of the match might have been entirely different.
Only 2-1 was Spurs leading at that stage of the game. Therefore, if the hosts had been reduced to 10 men, Brentford might have fought their way back into the match.
Vicario has once again given his manager needless worry, so Ange Postecoglou and his players may undoubtedly exhale with ease.
