Philip Clement mooted for new job away from Rangers

Nordin Jbari has mentioned that Philippe Clement, the manager of Rangers, is being considered as a potential manager for Anderlecht.

The former Belgium international called his former teammate from Club Brugge a “very intriguing alternative” to take Brian Roemer’s post at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium.

After agreeing to a new deal with the Gers through 2028, Clement oversaw Brugge from 2019 to 2022. It would be challenging for rivals Anderlecht to lure the 50-year-old away from Ibrox.

According to Jbari, who was quoted by the Daily Record on September 24, Philippe Clement enjoys playing modern, offensive football.

Despite the fact that he used to play and manage for Club Brugge, he would be a very intriguing alternative.

Because he is with the Rangers, there is undoubtedly a financial component as well. It is unclear if he would even entertain the idea of moving to Anderlecht.

Rangers need to use every effort to hang onto Philippe Clement.

The Belgian’s decision to sign a new four-year contract at Ibrox indicates that he and the team are dedicated to a long-term project in light blue, even though the Gers have had a poor start to the new campaign.

Clement got his team off to the greatest possible start when they won the Scottish League Cup shortly after he took over, and even though his team didn’t win the Scottish Cup or the Premiership, they definitely made progress.

Since Clement moved to Ibrox, the team has seen significant ups and downs, both on and off the pitch. Despite this, he has been a steady hand at the wheel and has now been able to mould a team in his image.

The financial resources to bring on 11 new faces this summer and let go of a number of long-serving players demonstrate the current hierarchy’s complete support for Clement’s vision for Ibrox.

Fans shouldn’t be too concerned about Clement leaving Rangers just yet, as his allegiance to Club Brugge and Rangers will be put to the test with Anderlecht sniffing about.
