After defeating Swedish bogey team Malmo and launching the team’s Europa League campaign to the ideal start, Rangers supporters had much to cheer about.
Thanks to goals from Northern Irish winger Ross McCausland and Albanian playmaker Nedim Bajrami, the Gers defeated the Scandinavians 2-0 in Sweden after a fantastic display.
As excitement among fans for this revamped Rangers team starts to grow, the response on social media has been entirely favourable.
However, special recognition was saved for one player in particular, who is already winning the hearts of Gers supporters and had a wonderful night in Sweden.
Fans of Rangers praise Nedim Bajrami
Ever since the Albanian completed a last-minute move to Ibrox at the close of the transfer window, Rangers supporters have been anxious to see what Nedim Bajrami can add to the team.
With a permanent £3.4 million transfer from Italian team Sassuolo to Glasgow, the 25-year-old has high expectations for himself.
Nedim Bajrami, who scored in the opening minute of Rangers’ Europa League match against Malmo, couldn’t have chosen a better time to launch his Rangers career.
Rangers supporters have honoured the midfielder for an all-around outstanding performance from the left wing, as he scored on the rebound after Cyriel Dessers inexplicably struck the post.
If Oscar Cortes hadn’t sustained a late knock during practice, the attacker might not have even made the starting lineup.
Supporters of the Rangers also adore that Albanian eagle celebration.
Nedim Bajrami’s performance against Malmo was praised by the Ibrox supporters, with one supporter asserting that the playmaker is a “different class of player.”
Another said, “We have a very serious player on our hands,” after describing Bajrami’s “flawless performance” in Sweden.
In a nutshell, one admirer said, “Bajrami is some player.”
The problem is that his teammates’ finishing could have been so much better.
Not just the Rangers rookie to impress but also the Europa League hero
Nedim Bajrami’s career with the Rangers is off to a great start, but it is still just the beginning.
Rangers supporters will be pleased with the first goal and his outstanding creative play, but all it does is provide Bajrami a springboard for success at Ibrox.
The Albanian isn’t the only recent Rangers addition that made a significant impact on Swedish fans, either.
Neraysho Kasanwirjo, a Dutch defender, played a superb game against Malmo, settling in nicely at left back and dominating both off and on the ball.
We won’t discuss the Feyenoord loanee’s conclusion too much, though!
