Pundits agree on ideal next Hearts boss candidate as Jambos + Hibs rival suspended over ‘alleged incident’

This weekend, Hearts and Hibs will play again in an attempt to increase their point totals.

On Sunday, the Hibs take on the formidable Rangers at Ibrox, while on Saturday, the Jambos—still looking for their first victory since firing head coach Steven Naismith the previous weekend—will play host to Ross County.

Champion manager endorsed for Hearts position

Hearts’ season has gotten off to a difficult start, as they have yet to claim their first victory. The Jambos have lost all of their games since forcing Rangers to a draw in their first meeting.

Many names have been connected to the open manager post, including former manager John McGlynn, who is seen as the best person to lead the team’s forwards. Recently, the Open Goal commentators convened to deliberate on Hearts’ present circumstances, with an eye towards emulating Aberdeen, who are currently tied with Celtic for the lead in points.

Si Ferry and James McFadden both expressed how much they “would love” to see McGlynn, the manager of Falkirk, take over at Tynecastle, complimenting Hearts on his “style, identity and experience.”

St. Mirren suspends the athlete

In a statement, St. Mirren confirmed that they have placed defender Shaun Rooney on “precautionary” leave while they look into an incident that happened in Glasgow last week.

Rooney “disclosed to the club his involvement in an alleged incident in Glasgow City Centre last week,” the club said in a statement. For the Paisley team this season, the 28-year-old has not missed a single Scottish Premiership match.

The statement concluded, “The club will now conduct a thorough investigation into this incident and will make no further comment during this process.”

Rooney’s arrest has now been verified by Police Scotland. After being accused of punching a woman and creating a commotion in a takeout restaurant in Glasgow’s city centre, he is scheduled to appear in court on two counts.
