Tuesday night will see Sunderland’s return to Championship play against Leeds United.
With the intention of maintaining their position atop the table, Sunderland will be back in action in the Championship on Tuesday night. But they will be up against Leeds United, who under Daniel Farke should contend for automatic promotion, which will be their hardest test to date.
This is the starting lineup that we believe Le Bris will use at the Stadium of Light, along with his most likely replacements…
1. GK: Anthony Patterson
Patterson is unquestionably Sunderland’s starting custodian of choice.
2. RB – Trai Hume With Dan Ballard out of the picture, Hume has played exceptionally well the past two games despite being one booking away from a suspension. Without a doubt, Friday night in the side will continue.
3. Luke O’Nien, CB

4. Chris Mepham, CB
Dan Ballard’s ankle injury has kept him out of action, and Le Bris has stated that he could not be back until after the next international break. This indicates that, having made an impression since making his debut, Mepham will have further chances to solidify his spot on the squad.
5. Dennis Cirkin, LB
having an outstanding campaign thus far and being certain of his spot on the squad.
6. Dan Neil, CM
performed admirably against Derby in response to a trying afternoon against Watford. Salis Abdul Samed won’t be prepared for this game and is still a long way off from making his debut.
7. Jobe Bellingham, CM
having a tremendous season so far and will remain in this starting lineup. scored the game-winning goal in the previous season’s match.
8. Chris Rigg, CM
Given Browne’s availability, Sunderland will have an opportunity to control Rigg’s playing time during a busy week of games. However, it is unlikely that Browne will leave the team at this point, since Le Bris made clear in his pre-game press conference that he will play on.
9. Patrick Roberts, RW
has had his playing time carefully controlled this week to guarantee that he will be rested and prepared for this important match.
10. Romaine Mundle, LW
has, understandably enough, been around since Jack Clarke’s left for Ipswich because of his outstanding form. Registered a key assist on Tuesday night.
11. Wilson Isidor, ST
He’s guaranteed to stay here after two goals in two starts, especially since Eliezer Mayenda is still out with a minor muscular ailment.
13. Alan Browne, Sub
returned to the team on Tuesday evening, and Ian Horrocks will play a significant role in this, probably as an impact replacement.
14. Leo Hjelde, Sub
Given the cover he can provide in the middle and on the left of defence, he is almost a lock to be included in the team.
15. Nazariy Rusyn, Sub
