Former Rangers boss sacked after seven game winless run as fans gun for hapless board

Since his brief tenure in Glasgow was cut short by his dismissal from Rangers, Pedro Caixinha has lived a wandering lifestyle.

Since then, the Portuguese manager has managed Cruz Azul, Al-Shabab, Santos Laguna, Talleres, and Red Bull Bragantino in Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, and Brazil.

It should come as no surprise to Gers supporters that, despite a few cup victories in his initial post-Ibrox stint at Cruz Azul, he has failed to establish long-term success anywhere.

Additionally, the 53-year-old’s most recent work ended in failure, leaving him jobless once more.

Red Bull Bragantino fired Pedro Caixinha, the former Rangers manager.

Jurgen Klopp just took over as Caixinha’s manager at Brazilian team Bragantino, which is a member of the Red Bull group.

However, following a seven-game losing streak that puts them just above the drop zone, he was fired.

“Pedro Caixinha is no longer the team coach,” the club said in a statement. After leading the team to 50 victories, 38 draws, and 36 losses, the Portuguese resigns.

“The team had its highest-ever points total in the Brazilian league last year, and it advanced to two Paulista league semifinals in 2023 and 2024.

Along with Pedro Caixinha, the club will also lose fitness coach Polyvios Kyritsis and his assistants Pedro Malta and Jose Belman.

“We wish them luck in their future careers and thank them all for their hard work and professionalism over the nearly two years they were here.”

After being hired last year, Caixinha had a respectable start, going to two semi-finals, winning two manager of the month honours, and placing third in the state league and sixth overall.

In December 2023, he agreed to a two-year contract extension; but, his patience has now run out, and the Rangers flop has been let go once more.

Following the ruling, fans seemed to be supporting Caixinha.

“Caixinha is a good coach,” one person said. The fact that Bragantino fired its top players and failed to replace them is not his fault.

Another added: “The company that owns their SAF lacks ambition, and most of their players are inexperienced, as they hire almost only young players. Even Caixinha himself complained about this, which is why Bragantino was not more incisive in the fight for the title.”

Recently, Caixinha incited a disturbance in Bragantino.

Recently, Caixinha seemed to be under pressure after the former Rangers manager incited a brawl after a 0-0 tie with Palmeiras.

Following a dispute between the two dugouts, Caixinha became enraged and confronted another employee while opposition manager Abel Ferreira went straight down the tunnel.

When he finally calmed down, the situation had already spread to the pitch, where players from both teams were interacting with one another.

“I am also very competitive,” he added later. I have no fear of trivialities or foolishness. I’m capable of managing everything.
