As worries at the King Power mount, Leicester City’s management plans to give Steve Cooper more time to improve the team’s performance.
Mick Brown, a former head scout for Man United and Blackburn Rovers who is still very well-connected in the league, told Football Insider exclusively that the players have had difficulty adjusting to this level.
Given the distance between the Championship and the Premier League, it is believed that there has been acknowledgement that the season was always going to be challenging.
This follows Football Insider’s disclosure on November 3rd that his employment was preserved until the next international break thanks to a last-minute equaliser against Ipswich.
But a lot of people working behind the scenes at the club are getting impatient and will insist on seeing big changes in the upcoming weeks.
Additionally, there have been worries that the players have not adopted the manager’s approach, which has made the move to Premier League football more challenging.
Leicester City decides to fire Steve Cooper right away.
Cooper has had trouble winning over the King Power’s players in the locker room, according to a report published by Football Insider on September 24.
Brown has maintained that Leicester’s current point total will be sufficient to retain the manager in the position for the foreseeable future. Brown spent more than ten years at Manchester United during their most prosperous time.
But he also threatened to fire the boss if he didn’t get more reliable results.
He said to Football Insider, “Leicester was the favourite to go down before a ball was kicked.”
It’s a significant leap from the Championship to the Premier League.
“So, while they did well in the Championship under a different coach, many teams that perform well in the lower division also have difficulties at this level.
I don’t find it surprising that the players have struggled, but perhaps it has taken some of them by surprise.
“He has been given more time than many anticipated since the owners are aware of that.
“They have gained points, but the results haven’t been satisfactory. They are above teams that you wouldn’t expect them to be at this point.
Since it’s a results game, he will ultimately need to improve the results.
At this level, you either win games or they find someone else who can. That’s how things operate.
However, I believe he will be given a little more time for the time being. For the time being, at least.
