Trio land deals with Gold Coast Titans

The three players competed in the reserve-grade league for a number of seasons.

Three players participating in the NSW Cup and QLD Cup have been given train and trial contracts with the Gold Coast Titans for the 2025 NRL season, the team said.

Gold Coast has confirmed that Brock Grey, Sean Mullany, and Josh Patston have been given full-time train and trial contract, joining Cooper Bai on the train and trial list. This means that they may play in the NRL towards the end of the upcoming season.

Brock Grey, who has nine seasons and 129 games in the NSW Cup competition, is the younger brother of former NRL player Aaron Grey and arrived from the South Sydney Rabbitohs. He is unrelated to fullback Jye Grey.

The 28-year-old, who formerly played for the Sydney Roosters, will be hoping to pick up tips from back row players like David Fifita and Beau Fermor.

Josh Patston has already secured a contract and played preseason for the Melbourne Storm and Brisbane Broncos after spending the season with the Burleigh Bears.

Patston, who has 52 QLD Cup appearances and is a back-rower like Grey, is probably going to pick up tips from the same players while playing under Des Hasler.

Hooker Sean Mullany, who played four seasons with the Mackay Cutters and two with the New Zealand Warriors in the NSW Cup, is the club’s last train and triallist.

He has made 58 appearances overall in the QLD Cup as a Junior Kiwis representative, playing at either hooker or lock. More recently, he played in the NRL Pre-Season Challenge games while preseasoning with the North Queensland Cowboys in 2024.
