Celtic manager reacts to player suspension rumour ahead of crunch Champions League tie
Celtic’s Women’s Champions League campaign has not gotten off to a great start.
On matchday one, Elena Sadiku’s team lost 2-0 at home to FC Twente before being crushed by Real Madrid as the European powerhouses displayed their strength.
Sadiku has decided to focus on the positive aspects of that 4-0 loss, but the Hoops are now in last place in Group B for the season and are striving for their first points when they play Chelsea at Celtic Park tomorrow night.
Sadiku’s team will need to perform at their peak when the English powerhouses visit Glasgow, as it is expected to be one of the most important games in the women’s team’s history.
With victories on penalties against bitter rivals Rangers in the SWPL Cup semi-final after victories of 4-0 and 5-0 against Queen’s Park and Motherwell, respectively, their on-field preparation could not have gone better.

However, there have been significant enquiries in recent weeks regarding the availability of important player Caitlin Hayes to play for the Blues off the field.
After the Republic of Ireland international missed two games against the Gers and one against Queen’s Park, there was a lot of speculation.
There were rumours that Celtic had suspended Caitlin Hayes. It has been suggested that the 29-year-old was excluded for other reasons and that there had been a falling out between the management and the player.
However, Sadiku has now taken action to dispel any rumours or speculation, stating unequivocally that Hayes’ exclusion from the team was due to her desire to give the athlete time to recover.
Since she hasn’t been suspended, the supervisor stated, “I believe my response has always been that she has been resting, and that is the same answer that I am going to give you.”
What Elena Sadiku stated regarding Celtic’s “suspension” and Caitlin Hayes When I claim that she has not been suspended, I believe you can believe me. She has had some rest.
Sadiku was evasive when asked why Hayes did not attend the games, as is customary for first-team players regardless of their engagement.
If that is the reason she is being rested, then there is a reason, but I don’t want to discuss it,” she continued. However, she has been sleeping.
There are no problems because she has returned and has been training. She has resumed her training, and everything is going well. She has been sleeping. “Yes, she is now a member of the squad.” She has returned after taking a break. There is nothing else to discuss.
