Norwich City will need to consider their alternatives in the final third as the January transfer window draws near. Norwich is currently stuck in a rut following a prior period of success for Johannes Hoff Thorup’s team.
Thorup’s ambitions for this season have been severely hampered by the fact that their star player, Josh Sargent, will be sidelined for two months due to groin surgery.
You would have thought the Canaries would be in the running for promotion more than a month ago after Borja Sainz’s outstanding play thrust them into the spotlight and his collaboration with Sargent appeared to be working.
But after consecutive 2-0 losses, there appears to be a significant issue in front of goal, and many Norwich supporters are expecting that it will be fixed by January.
In January, Norwich City might use a striker.
Prior to the winter window, Zeke Downes, a Norwich City supporter and commentator for FLW, has explained his top worry. “One issue I’d absolutely have ahead of the transfer window is the striking department, especially with Sargent out.”
We appear quite thin. Whether or whether Crnac is a striker is difficult to determine, although it appears that he is. Although he has the makings of a striker, he is not yet prepared to be our line leader.

The importance of Sargent to this Norwich team is obvious to anyone. His nine goals in 12 games this season truly sums him up, and he does more than just help create and score goals—his off-the-ball work also contributes.
Given his stellar record with Norwich over the years, the board ought to look for a temporary replacement in case his recuperation lasts until 2025 or he experiences another setback.
If the Norwich board is unwilling to spend a lot of money, a Premier League loan or even a potential free agent can be considered as a less expensive option. If Norwich doesn’t do well this season, they could lose more Crown Jewels after their large summer sales, which included Jonathan Rowe and Gabriel Sara.
If Norwich doesn’t get promoted again this season, Sargent will undoubtedly be wondering about his future. The USMNT player would have plenty of competition to lead a charge for the top six if the team were to acquire a striker in the meantime to regain their form while Sargent was away.
