According to sources who spoke to Ibrox News, the Belgian FA will not pursue Philippe Clement if Rangers do not fire him.
With Domenico Tedesco facing termination following the 1-0 loss to Israel on November 17 [Daily Record], Clement has been connected to the Belgium position.
If Clement remains in charge at Govan, a financial transfer for him is “impossible,” according to Belgian sources who spoke to Ibrox News.
Update on Philippe Clement to Belgium at Rangers
Rangers are now in third place in the Scottish Premiership, nine points behind Aberdeen and Celtic, thanks to Clement’s leadership.
Things might swiftly change with a strong start in the Europa League and a Scottish League Cup final versus Celtic in December.
RTL Sports and Alexandre Braeckman have informed Ibrox News that given the current financial situation, a move for Clement is not feasible.
Keith Jackson called Ibrox’s recent signing of Clement to a new long-term contract that would keep him there until 2028 “putting up a white flag already.”
Nils Koppen, the club’s recently appointed Technical Director, acknowledged that he is eager to work with Clement to win more championships.
As of right now, Clement appears to be staying put.
