Sky Sports sent SOS in Celtic ticket row after Hearts ’embarrassed’ Scottish football

Support from the Hoops has reacted negatively to the limited amount of tickets available for the match at Tynecastle.

Fuming Hearts “embarrassed” Scottish football in their match against Celtic, according to Peter Grant, who believes Sky Sports should order clubs to increase their away allocation.

Due to strong season ticket sales and the demand from walk-up punters for home briefs, the Jambos decided to reduce all Tynecastle away allocations to about 650, with the exception of city rivals Hibs, in the previous campaign. Due to the new regulations, only one area of the Roseburn stand was set aside for Scottish Premiership away fans, including Saturday’s travelling Hoops supporters.

The little number during Brendan Rodgers’ team’s 4-1 victory on Saturday has infuriated Glasgow’s east end. Hearts was criticised by the Bhoys Celtic ultras in a vehement statement for starting a ticket hunt that causes “unnecessary division and friction among our support.” Grant, who is annoyed, believes that broadcasters ought to have a voice in Gorgie’s and Scottish football’s cap. He told the Go Radio Football Show: “They (Hearts) should be embarrassed.”

“Scottish football ought to feel ashamed. If that’s who is running the game, Sky should be urging them to say “no, no—you sell your tickets fairly.” According to a buddy, there are two tickets available for each of the eleven buses.

If Celtic or Rangers don’t visit these teams, they don’t sell out anyhow, hence they won’t ever sell out (Tynecastle). It’s disgusting that so many children want to accompany their fathers but are unable to purchase tickets. People are pointing out that Celtic supporters don’t attend games, but in reality, they don’t provide us with tickets.

“As you proceed and pass by the other stadiums, you notice how empty the seats are when Rangers and Celtic are not present. It’s a complete farce when we have individuals who are eager to attend the games yet we are unable to get them past the turnstile.

“I know that Rangers and Celtic have issues with one another, but at least the stadiums are packed for that match, right? That’s the distinction. That’s absurd. With the exception of Aberdeen this season, all of the stadiums you see deserve credit, but everyone else needs to get their act together.”
