Celtic set sights on signing 22-yr-old goal machine

Celtic are reportedly targeting a January move for Brondby IF striker Mathias Kvistgaarden, according to sources at Football Insider.

Speaking on the Football Insider Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Celtic scouts are closely monitoring the 22-year-old forward. Kvistgaarden has expressed interest in exploring a move to a new league for a fresh challenge, and Celtic, long-time admirers, are keen to bring him to Scotland.

The forward has been in prolific form this season, netting 13 goals in 20 matches across all competitions, which has attracted attention from clubs across Europe. While Celtic hope to secure a deal in January, they are willing to wait until the summer if necessary.

Brendan Rodgers is reportedly confident in the depth of his current squad, provided injuries are avoided, but he is eager to bolster options to ensure success on multiple fronts, particularly in European competitions. Celtic currently sit 20th in the Champions League rankings after five games.

In addition to Kvistgaarden, Celtic are also tracking Motherwell’s 18-year-old prodigy Lennon Miller, who has garnered interest from several clubs. Financially, Celtic appear well-positioned to outmaneuver Old Firm rivals Rangers in the race for Miller’s signature.

The Hoops return to action on Wednesday, December 4, for a top-of-the-table clash against

Aberdeen.
