EXCLUSIVE! Rangers raid Aberdeen for key appointment as one of the best in the business heads to Ibrox

Kevin Bain, widely regarded as one of the country’s top physiotherapists, has been appointed as Rangers’ new head physio after the club secured his services from Aberdeen.

The Light Blues specifically targeted Bain, who had been serving as Aberdeen’s head of medical since being brought to Pittodrie by Jim Goodwin in 2022. Renowned for his expertise in injury prevention, Bain now joins Philippe Clement’s backroom staff. During his time at Aberdeen, he worked under figures such as Goodwin, Barry Robson, Neil Warnock, Peter Leven, and Jimmy Thelin.

Before his tenure at Aberdeen, Bain enjoyed successful stints at St Mirren and Ross County, both in the Premiership. His departure leaves Aberdeen and manager Thelin in search of a new head of medical and sports science. The Dons are reportedly at an advanced stage in their recruitment process and aim to fill the role within weeks, especially with a demanding schedule ahead.

Aberdeen recently secured a 1-1 draw with Hearts, bringing their total to two points from three challenging away games against Hearts, Hibs, and St Mirren. They are set to host reigning champions Celtic on Wednesday, with the Hoops currently holding a four-point lead and a game in hand.
