Derek Ferguson has been thoroughly impressed by Rangers star Hamza Igamane following the forward’s recent performances for the Ibrox side.
The Moroccan international has hit his stride lately, scoring in three of the Gers’ last four matches. His contributions were pivotal in Rangers’ commanding 3-0 Scottish Premiership victory over Ross County on Sunday.
Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland (8 December, 14:14 pm), Ferguson praised Igamane’s form, saying:
“Igamane is a real breath of fresh air, the young man. The manager said he was trying to get him up to speed, but in the last few games, he has been nothing short of brilliant.
“He is off the cuff, and he had three or four nutmegs this afternoon – and took his goal brilliantly.
“I don’t know if you remember Ted McMinn, but Igamane’s got that unpredictability.”
Could Hamza Igamane Be Rangers’ Missing Piece?
Just weeks ago, few would have believed Rangers would close the gap to second-placed Aberdeen to just two points under Philippe Clement. Yet, the Gers have made significant strides, buoyed by a recent surge in form.
Rangers’ struggles in the final third have been well-documented this season, but Igamane’s introduction appears to have revitalized the attack. His flair, confidence, and newfound scoring ability have added a much-needed spark to the team.
While Clement’s tactical adjustments have certainly contributed to Rangers’ resurgence, Igamane’s impact in front of goal could be the key to reigniting their title challenge.
Whether this momentum continues remains to be seen, but for now, both Igamane and Rangers seem to be heading in the right direction.
