Rising Celtic Talent Daniel Cummings Sparks Interest from Fulham, Wolves, and Ipswich
Teenage Celtic striker Daniel Cummings is reportedly attracting strong interest from Premier League sides Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham, and Ipswich Town.
Uncertainty around Cummings’ long-term future at Parkhead has put the trio of English clubs on high alert. The 18-year-old has impressed with his stellar performances for Celtic’s B team, scoring 17 goals in 14 Lowland League matches this season. He has also excelled in the UEFA Youth League, notching five goals in as many games against some of Europe’s top youth defenses.
Despite his form, contract talks between Cummings and Celtic have stalled for months, leaving the teenager set to become a free agent in the summer unless a deal is reached. If no agreement is made by January, he can negotiate pre-contract terms with clubs in England and abroad. While highly praised by manager Brendan Rodgers, Cummings has yet to make a senior appearance.
Rodgers emphasized that opportunities for young players depend on more than just talent, highlighting professionalism and mentality as key factors. However, Celtic may lose the promising forward for a minimal cross-border compensation fee, estimated at under £500,000.
Rangers Target Former Sunderland Loanee Joe Gelhardt
Rangers are reportedly eyeing Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt as a potential January signing. The 21-year-old, who had a loan spell with Sunderland in 2023, is said to be a priority target for manager Philippe Clement.
Gelhardt, a product of Wigan Athletic’s academy, has made 57 appearances for Leeds since joining in 2020, contributing three goals and five assists. Despite his potential and a strong record of 12 goals in 15 games for England’s U19s, Gelhardt has struggled for minutes under Daniel Farke this season, playing just nine minutes of Championship football and missing the last seven matchday squads entirely.
With his future at Leeds uncertain, Gelhardt could be on the move, and Rangers are reportedly keen to bolster their attacking options with the talented forward.
