Rangers have found a temporary successor for Karim Varani, their departing chief commercial officer.
The most recent high-profile departure at Rangers is Varani, who joined the Ibrox board in the summer of 2023. The former West Ham United player is anticipated to formally step down in January in order to “pursue new opportunities.”
The role will now be temporarily filled by Sean Jefferson.
Jefferson has a proven track record working with multinational media firm Mindshare, international beverages behemoth Diageo, and Manchester United.
In the New Year, he will start working with the Scottish Premiership powerhouses until a permanent acquisition is found.
Jefferson started SportValue, a firm that he says is “helping organisations unlock value in sport,” after departing Old Trafford last year.
SportValue helps agencies, media and entertainment organisations, sports technology companies, and rights-holders navigate the business world of sports by offering professional advice.
The consultancy seeks to cultivate alliances that increase value for companies, their partners, and the fans they cater to.
