Rangers agree loan exit as defender announcement confirmed

Adam Devine Secures Loan Move to Queen’s Park from Rangers

Rangers confirmed on X (1 February) that 21-year-old Adam Devine has joined Scottish Championship side Queen’s Park on loan for the remainder of the season.

The young defender, who has made only 11 senior appearances for Rangers, spent the latter half of last season on loan at Motherwell, indicating he isn’t a key part of Philippe Clement’s plans.

Devine Departs Ibrox on Loan

Devine’s loan move doesn’t come as a surprise, especially with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. Despite making his first-team debut in 2022, the defender has struggled for consistent game time, and this loan spell offers him the chance to gain regular minutes.

With his contract nearing its end, it seems unlikely that Devine has a future at Ibrox, making this potentially his final stint associated with the club.

Earlier reports (The Daily Mail, 9 January) suggested Birmingham City were eyeing a bargain move for Devine, but his loan departure hints that the interest may have cooled.

While it’s improbable that Devine’s performances away from Glasgow will revive his Rangers career, this loan could play a pivotal role in shaping his next steps in professional football.
