There are few things Sunderland needs to work on before the deadline. However, those irons continue to be removed by other clubs, who continue to sign their purported transfer targets.

There is still only one January signing for Sunderland. The Black Cats haven’t been able to sign anyone since Enzo Le Fee came on loan from Roma earlier this month.

Some names have been strongly associated with certain things. One was Tom Cannon, whom Sunderland was willing to spend a lot of money on, but Sheffield United beat the Black Cats to get promoted.

Sunderland’s top focus at the moment is attacking acquisitions, and Kristjaan Speakman is working on many targets before the deadline on February 3rd, which coincidentally coincides with Sunderland’s away game against Middlesbrough.

However, after learning that Chuba Akpom is going to Lille on loan, yet another target has moved on.

Rabbi Matondo, a Sunderland target, completes an unexpected Hannover 96 move.

Recently, Rabbi Matondo has been in the news for transfers. The former Manchester City player, who has finally finalised a loan move to 2.Bundesliga team Hannover 96, was linked to Sunderland among other teams. In the summer, the German team will have the opportunity to sign him on a permanent basis.

If they can get promoted to the Bundesliga, Hannover, who are now in fifth place in the German second division table, will only need to spend £1 million to join the 24-year-old Matondo in the summer, according to BILD.

£1 million for a player with a track record like Matondo would have been a steal, even for Sunderland in the Championship. Speakman might now be thwarting Matondo’s plans to relocate.

A Sunderland winger might depart before to the deadline.

Le Bris recently stated that his goal is to make attacking additions, not necessarily a number nine, but someone who can typically play in the final third. Matondo-like.

In the closing days of the January transfer window, Brighton appears particularly interested in acquiring Tommy Watson, who Sunderland now run the risk of losing. Given that Watson has 18 months left on his contract at the Stadium of Light, it is rumoured that Sunderland may be tempted to sell him if a high bid is received.

For Speakman and Sunderland, therefore, losing Matondo might now be a major concern. Even with the excitement surrounding the signing of Wilson Isidor and Le Fee, the Black Cats may still experience another frustrating transfer window in January.
