Rangers Eyeing Late Deadline Day Loan Move for Attacker

Rangers could be poised for a last-minute loan swoop for an attacker on transfer deadline day, according to The Rangers Review (3 February). The report suggests that the Gers aren’t finished with their business as the winter transfer window nears its conclusion.

If the opportunity arises, the Light Blues are expected to prioritize securing a forward on a temporary deal to bolster their attacking options.

Final Day Frenzy at Ibrox?

So far, Rafael Fernandes has been the sole addition to Philippe Clement’s squad this window, brought in to strengthen the defense amid an injury crisis. However, with John Souttar and James Tavernier now back in action, the focus could shift to the attacking department.

While the Ibrox faithful may have hoped for more activity in recent weeks, it seems the transfer drama will continue until the window slams shut at 11 pm on 3 February. The departures of Rabbi Matondo, Kieran Dowell, and several youngsters have reduced the wage bill, potentially creating financial flexibility for a late signing.

Danilo’s recent injury may have prompted Rangers to consider adding firepower up front. Although Hamza Igamane has stepped up as the first-choice striker and Cyriel Dessers has made the most of his recent opportunities, the squad still appears thin in attacking depth.

Vaclav Cerny has been carrying much of the creative load, while Ianis Hagi has shown signs of resurgence. Despite this, there’s a noticeable gap in both the number nine and number ten roles. Whether Rangers will address these areas before the deadline remains to be seen.
