
Hibs Assistant Eddie May in Stable Condition After Car Crash
57-year-old Eddie May, Hibernian’s assistant manager, is recovering in hospital following a car accident on the A68 near Pathhead, Midlothian, on Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred shortly after 7:30 am, and the driver of the other vehicle, a 29-year-old man, has been charged by police.
May was reportedly on his way to training when the collision happened. He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, where he remains in a stable condition.
Hibs Issue Statement on May’s Condition
A Hibernian FC spokesperson said:
“Eddie May is in a stable condition following a road traffic accident earlier today. We ask that everyone respects the privacy of Eddie and his family. The club wishes him a full and speedy recovery.”
May, who played over 100 games for Hibs in the late 1980s, has been involved in various coaching roles at the club since 2014. He was appointed assistant to David Gray last year.
Police Confirm Details of Incident
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed:
“At 7:15 am on Wednesday, February 19, we received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A68 near Pathhead. A 57-year-old man and a 29-year-old man were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. The 29-year-old was also arrested and charged with a road traffic offence.”
