Breaking: Man United dealt huge Ayden Heaven injury blow during Leicester City clash
Man United’s Ayden Heaven Stretchered Off During Leicester City Clash
Manchester United defender Ayden Heaven was taken off on a stretcher after sustaining an injury during Sunday’s match against Leicester City.
The 18-year-old centre-back went down awkwardly early in the second half while attempting to intercept the ball at the back post. He appeared to be in discomfort and remained on the ground just off the pitch before being substituted for Toby Collyer.
Speaking after the match, United manager Ruben Amorim admitted uncertainty about the extent of Heaven’s injury. “I don’t know, it’s hard to say because we need to assess it during the week,” Amorim said. “He’s a young kid who struggles to explain exactly what he’s feeling, which makes it even harder to understand.”
Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe analyzed the incident, noting, “The way he went down was awkward, with a twisting motion.” Meanwhile, former Republic of Ireland international Clinton Morrison shared his concerns on BBC Radio 5 Live: “He signaled to the bench straight away. Maybe he rolled something, but hopefully, he’s alright.”
At the time of Heaven’s injury, United were leading 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal from Rasmus Højlund. Shortly after, Alejandro Garnacho doubled their advantage, moments after having an earlier effort ruled out for offside.
Regarding Garnacho’s disallowed goal, the Premier League’s official match centre X account confirmed, “The referee’s call of no goal was checked and confirmed by the VAR – with Garnacho in an offside position.”
