Former Rangers coach celebrates with supporters in away end at Celtic Park

Alex Rae joined Rangers supporters in the away section at Parkhead to celebrate their victory over Celtic.

The former Ibrox coach shared a video from Celtic Park following Rangers’ 3-2 win and took to X (formerly Twitter) to post: “Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”

Rae, who previously played for Rangers, departed his coaching role at the club last month after Philippe Clement was sacked. His exit came alongside that of Stephen van der Heyden.

Despite stepping away from his coaching duties, Rae remains a dedicated supporter, opting to watch the derby from the stands rather than the dugout.

Earlier this month, he reflected on his time working with Clement, describing it as a “real transitional period” and praising the Belgian’s relentless work ethic.

Speaking about Clement, Rae said: “I thought he was tremendous. His work ethic was second to none.

“He was first in and last out every single day. His attention to detail was second to none as well, and I’ve only got a huge amount of respect for Philippe.

“I thought he was a great guy.”
