Keith Jackson names 1 condition Cerny will reject other offers to stay at Rangers

According to recent reports, Vaclav Cerny, currently on loan at Rangers from Wolfsburg, has expressed a strong desire to remain at Ibrox. Cerny is reportedly willing to reject seven or eight transfer offers from other clubs if Rangers can provide one key assurance. The condition he seeks is clarity on the managerial situation; he wishes to know whether Barry Ferguson will be appointed as the permanent manager. Cerny has already discussed this with Ferguson and is keen to continue under his leadership.

Cerny has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 17 goals and providing seven assists in 44 appearances. Despite his success, his future has been uncertain due to financial constraints at Rangers and interest from other clubs. His current contract with Wolfsburg runs until 2027, and the club is reportedly seeking a £6.75 million transfer fee. However, Cerny has expressed his enjoyment of his time at Rangers and hopes to extend his stay.

The potential takeover of Rangers by an American consortium, including NFL owners 49ers Enterprises and Andrew Cavenagh, could provide the financial backing needed to secure Cerny’s permanent transfer. Cerny remains focused on his performances for the remainder of the season and is awaiting clarity on the managerial situation before making decisions about his future.
