Daniel Iversen is wanted by Preston North End with the Leicester City goalkeeper tipped to leave the club this summer.
Iversen is set to become a free agent with his current Foxes deal set to expire at the end of the campaign with the club destined to return to the Championship.
The former Stoke City loanee has not kicked a ball all season having initially been targeted by Derby County for a move last summer.
But that deal never materialised due to the player’s wages which had increased as a result of the Foxes’ promotion to the Premier League.
With Iversen not expected to be handed a new contract, Preston are now keen to make a permanent move having signed him on loan twice before.
Preston North End goalkeeper Freddie Woodman is expected to leave and it is claimed by Alan Nixon that they want Iversen to make a summer move to Deepdale.
However, Nixon says that Iversen, 27, will not come cheap even if he becomes a free agent but North End could be willing to heavily fund a move to land their man.
Leicester writer Jordan Blackwell anticipates Iversen will be leaving and wrote: “It’s that point of the season where discussions might be had over which players have kicked a ball for the final time in Leicester City colours.
“But those predictions are difficult to make at City. As things stand, there are only three players who it can be said with some certainty to have played their last game for the club.
