Celtic star struggling to agree new contract and could leave for £0 as ‘red flags’ raised around Rangers star

Tuesday night, Celtic pulled off an incredible  comeback, defeating RB Leipzig 3-1 at home after falling down. The Hoops are now up to 13th in the standings with seven points in Europe.

Rangers will try to add three more points to their total when they play Olympiacos at the Karaiskakis Stadium this evening. With six points so far, Philippe Clement’s team has the opportunity to move far up the Europa League standings should those in front of them lose.

Before Rangers’ match in Europe, let’s review the two teams’ most recent headlines.

The club is attempting to terminate the Celtic transfer agreement.

In order to balance the books, Celtic offloaded numerous veteran players, notably Matt O’Riley, and brought in a number of new full-time hires throughout the summer. In addition to bringing in Álex Valle from Barcelona until the end of the season, the Hoops sent other players out on loan. However, the club has only one senior left-back option under contract: Greg Taylor.

However, it is unclear how long that will continue to be the case. According to the Daily Mail, negotiations “have reached a state of stalemate” and, although they are still ongoing, there has been a “bump in the road” because his contract expires at the end of the current campaign. As of right now, he is free to speak with other teams in January.

Rangers raise “red flags” before Olympiacos

Rangers will aim for a massive three points when they return to the Europa League this evening. After their narrow victory over Motherwell in the Premier Sports Cup over the weekend, Clement’s team will travel to Greece for the match.

Mark Guidi has offered his thoughts on certain personnel adjustments he believes Clement should make going forward, despite the fact that the Gers were able to secure their spot in the final against Celtic. After Jefte’s poor performance the previous time out, Guidi recommended on the most recent Go Radio Football Show that Neraysho Kasanwirjo be started ahead of him.

“I would start looking at going with [Dujon] Sterling as my right-back and Kasanwirjo as my left-back if you’re picking your best XI right now for whatever game,” Guidi stated.

Although Kasanwirjo is plainly more right-sided, I think he has a great appearance and can slot in. Yilmaz, I don’t know when he’ll return, and Jefte, that was just a serious red flag in the way he defended [against Motherwell]. Just put a marker down, though, and I would follow Kasanwirjo.
