‘Rangers’ best player’: Kris Boyd says one star has become undroppable, Clement would ‘struggle’ without him

Rangers learnt from the events of the previous week that one member of Philippe Clement’s team is rapidly becoming undroppable, which is something Kris Boyd was eager to emphasise following that Motherwell victory.

Even though they were only a few days apart, Rangers’ performance with him was simply far superior to their performance without him.

The Glasgow giants appeared toothless without Vaclav Cerny, who was injured as Philippe Clement’s club dropped nine points behind Aberdeen in the Premiership standings. They also lacked any kind of flow in the closing third.

Therefore, the sound barrier might have been broken by the sigh of relief that came from Ibrox when Cerny was cleared to start against Motherwell in Sunday’s Scottish League Cup semi-final at Hampden Park.

Cerny, who was Rangers’ most productive player going into the weekend, contributed seven goals in his last five Rangers games with a defense-splitting pass that set up Nedim Bajrami’s late winner in transition.

Additionally, Cerny is quickly becoming “undroppable” in Boyd’s eyes. That is, if he hasn’t already arrived.

Vaclav Cerny might be the Rangers’ important player going forward, according to Kris Boyd.

“Cerny played well on the right side once more [in the build-up to Bajrami’s goal].” After his former employers set up a final matchup with Old Firm rivals Celtic, the renowned striker admits, “I have got to say, I thought he was Rangers’ best player again.”

“I believe Rangers would be having trouble if he were to be out for a while. They will be overjoyed to get him back after he clearly missed the Wednesday night’s game [against Aberdeen].

“He is a threat; he sees passes, plays [with his] head up, and has already scored a good number of goals.”

“I dare say that the Rangers cannot afford for him to be absent at this time.”

It pleased Philippe Clement to see Cerny again.

Cerny’s Rangers career seemed to be going in only one direction just a few weeks ago.

Prior to his halftime exclusion from Hibernian, he responded angrily to the criticism he was receiving from the Ibrox supporters. This was followed by two terrible Europa League misses against Malmo and Lyon.

Therefore, it makes sense that Clement feels more confident now that his belief in the Rangers loanee from Wolfsburg has paid off.

When Cerny, wearing a Rangers shirt, turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 victory over Motherwell, the Belgian grinned and said, “It’s important [to have key players back from injury].”

Vaclav was missed in Aberdeen this week. You can also see how important he is to the team. Each of these matters greatly. The squad will benefit from having more players available. Our calendar is really hectic; Thursday and Sunday are coming up again.

“To achieve the desired outcomes, we will require this rotation and everyone who is available in such manner. That’s always winning. Very easy. But it’s not easy. What we want is quite straightforward. And what we stated the moment we entered this building.

I would like to see that. This team has the mindset to battle for victory every time.
