Gers ask fans to arrive almost five hours early as rivals warned over ‘unacceptable conduct’

Rangers, who will host Hearts at Ibrox on Remembrance Sunday, have encouraged fans to participate in the planning of a unique display.

The Gers say that carrying on the long-standing custom of recognising the commitment of the British military who gave their lives in defence of our nation is a “honour.”

A spectacular Remembrance Sunday card display will be unveiled by Rangers as part of that, and the Ibrox team will openly ask fans to help build it.

Rangers supporters are excited to see how the team celebrates this significant milestone, and some are being asked to be to the stadium up to four and a half hours before the 5 p.m. kickoff at Ibrox.

Rangers appeal on Remembrance Sunday

According to a statement sent to supporters:

Rangers Football Club is proud to carry on the custom of honouring those who bravely served their nation by holding our yearly Remembrance Day celebration at Ibrox.

“The club is looking for volunteers to help set up a Remembrance card display for the Rangers vs. Heart of Midlothian game on Sunday, November 10, in accordance with the customs of the day.

“Please sign up HERE if you would like to participate in this Remembrance tribute.

On Saturday, November 9, volunteers should go to the Main Stand Reception at 12.30 p.m.; work on the exhibit will start then and continue until 5 p.m. (or until the show is finished).

“I appreciate your steadfast and ongoing support.”

Hearts supporters demanded it because of “unacceptable conduct.”

Hearts have been cautioning travelling supporters about their behaviour at the same time that Rangers have asked for assistance for the Remembrance Sunday show at Ibrox.

With new manager Neil Critchley adamant that the Tynecastle club has a strategy to leave Glasgow with all three points, the Jambos supporters will travel the short distance down the M8 from Edinburgh.

However, Hearts have urged their fans to watch the unique Remembrance Sunday presentation and, like Rangers, honour those who served their country before to the Scottish Premiership match.

The following is taken from a Hearts statement to supporters:

This match is the Rangers’ Remembrance game. As a sign of respect, there will be a minute of silence before kickoff. We appreciate the cooperation of our supporters in advance.

“Any supporter who engages in unacceptable behaviour will be ejected from the stadium and will be subject to sanctions in line with our unacceptable conduct policy.”
