According to Michael Gannon, Rangers supporters are hoping for a manager similar to Ange Postecoglou, the former Celtic head coach and manager of Tottenham.
According to the journalist for the Daily Record, Gers fans are yelling for a dreamer like the Australian based on their interactions with him.
After winning consecutive league titles at Parkhead, Postecoglou had a successful debut season with Tottenham, altering the team’s style of play.
“I do get the sense from Rangers fans, I speak to them, they’re waiting for a guy like Ange Postecoglou type figure,” Gannon said on November 11 on Record Sport’s Hotline. A little different, a little more idealistic.
Rangers require a driven, young manager.
Although Postecoglou’s actions at Celtic will be despised by Gers supporters, they must acknowledge that he changed their style of play and enhanced several of their players.
However, at Ibrox, Clement, Michael Beale, or Giovanni van Bronckhorst hardly made an impression of that nature.
All had promising beginnings, but things with the supporters gradually soured as their managerial flaws were revealed.
The goal is to locate a rising manager who resembles Postecoglou but isn’t yet being considered by Premier League teams.
If they are, it becomes much more challenging because young managers do not view the SPFL as a lucrative option.
In Asia, Kevin Muscat might be enticed to establish himself in Europe, and it is definitely possible to entice him to assume leadership.
