Both shirt sponsor McEwan’s Lager and kit manufacturer Nike had long-term overlapping contracts with Rangers in the 1990s and 2000s.
Only from 1997 to 1999, however, did the two wear the same jersey.
At the start of the 1997–98 season, Nike replaced Adidas as Ibrox’s kit provider, and before the 1999–2000 season, McEwan’s was replaced by the now-defunct cable television corporation NTL.
