Amad Diallo has made 12 appearances for Manchester United in the Premier League so far this season, tallying five assists and one goal.
The 22-year-old Diallo, who joined United in 2020 for £37 million from Atalanta, has had a difficult path into the starting lineup.
He had a poor start, but in the 2022–2023 season, while on loan at Sunderland, he came alive, scoring 14 goals in 39 Championship games to help the Black Cats qualify for the playoffs.
Diallo has since been frequently associated with a return to Sunderland. However, under new manager Ruben Amorim, he is now a key member of the Red Devils.

Although Diallo’s contract expires in 2025, United has the option—and most likely will—to extend it by one more year.
However, Amorim gave a rather hazy assessment on Amad’s future at Old Trafford in his remarks prior to the Arenal match.
“I think he wants to stay and we want him to stay, so that is clear and we will find a solution,” Amorim told reporters.
This season, his numbers are self-evident. It’s no small accomplishment to have five assists in 12 Premier League games, and his performance against Arsenal after entering the game and his ability to change the course of play demonstrate his talent.
With Amad, the Premier League no longer needs to question his potential; he only needs to be trusted.
