Rangers player ratings v Ross County – 4/10 Cerny terrible, 9/10 Igamane immense

Rangers delivered a crucial 3-0 victory over Ross County on Sunday, narrowing the gap to Aberdeen in the league standings.

Goals from Hamza Igamane and Danilo gave Philippe Clement’s side a strong first-half advantage, with James Tavernier sealing the win late in the second half. While the result was vital for their league campaign, the Gers face two significant challenges in the coming week: hosting Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham at Ibrox and defending their League Cup title against Celtic at Hampden Park.

Player Ratings

Jack Butland – 5

Produced a key save in the first half and another excellent block in the second, but nearly gifted Ross County a goal after losing possession in his box, only to be rescued by John Souttar.

James Tavernier – 8

Quiet for much of the match but capped off a solid performance with a superb late strike. His calm play on the right contributed to Rangers’ control.

John Souttar – 7

Crucial in preserving the clean sheet, including a pivotal clearance after Butland’s error. Strong at the back and almost scored in the second half.

Leon Balogun – 8

Commanding and composed, winning his battles with ease. His experience shone through, ensuring Ross County’s attackers posed little threat.

Jefte – 7

Dynamic on the flank, providing the assist for Igamane’s opener. Showed promise going forward, though his impact waned after halftime.

Connor Barron – 5

Steady but unspectacular, winning tackles in advanced areas but failing to make a significant impression.

Nico Raskin – 5

Had an inconsistent outing but contributed by supporting his more creative teammates.

Ianis Hagi – 6

Controlled the midfield with composure, though his influence in the final third was limited. Showed flashes of his quality after being sidelined for much of the season.

Vaclav Cerny – 4

Struggled to make an impact, with his deliveries easily dealt with by the Ross County defense. Missed two chances he would normally bury.

Hamza Igamane – 9

Outstanding performance, opening the scoring early and creating problems for the Ross County defense throughout. Provided a great chance for Cerny in the second half.

Danilo – 7

Displayed excellent work rate, earning his goal through relentless pressing. His energy and pressing could be vital in upcoming matches.
