Rangers want Isaac Price transfer as replacement eyed already

According to Walfoot, Rangers are considering Isaac Price, a midfielder for Standard Liege, before the January transfer window opens.

Although information on the player has been obtained, the Belgian site notes that Ibrox’s interest does not ensure an approach next month.

However, it is rumoured that Liege anticipates losing Price shortly and is already considering a novel way to replace him on a loan with a buyout option.

The Rangers are prepared to finalise Isaac Price’s transfer.

Is this what Nils Koppen is actually considering in January?

As the Scottish Premiership season enters its second half, Philippe Clement will be the first to tell him that’s the last position he needs to figure out.

Over the summer, Connor Barron joined Kieran Dowell, Nico Raskin, and Mohamed Diomande at Ibrox in midfield; his fee has not yet been determined.

It makes far more sense that Clement is reportedly prioritising a new central defender, particularly in light of John Souttar’s injury [Rangers Review].

Price may increase competition in that playmaker role with players like Ianis Hagi and Nedim Bajrami if a low-cost contract can be negotiated.

Even so, those two should be sufficient, and if Cyriel Dessers decides to quit the team—which he may—an additional striker will probably be required.
