Suspension hits Hearts ahead of a big week

Cammy Devlin, a midfielder for the Edinburgh side Hearts, will miss next weekend’s Premiership trip to Ross County due to yellow cards.

The Australian will miss the trip to Dingwall because he was given a one-match suspension following his booking during Sunday’s game against St Johnstone at Tynecastle Park.

At 42 minutes, Devlin received his sixth yellow card of the season for a late tackle on Benjamin Kimpioka of St Johnstone. According to the disciplinary guidelines of the Scottish Football Association, he will now be suspended for one league game, which will take effect seven days after the date of the sixth booking.

Devlin will be available for the Edinburgh derby between Hearts and Hibs on Boxing Day at Tynecastle. Neil Critchley’s team has a big week ahead of them as they try to climb the Premiership standings and escape the relegation zone.

Since the Englishman assumed over in the middle of October, Devlin has consistently started. Beni Baningime is also attempting to recover from a knee injury, but teenager Macaulay Tait might start against County.
