CELTIC’S £7.25M DOUBLE CASHBACK AGREEMENT.

CELTIC are looking to recoup their initial £7.25million spend on Luis Palma and Alexandro Bernabei as both players prepare for the Parkhead exit.

The Hoops spend £3.5milliion on the winger to recruit him on a five-year contract from Greek team Greek Aris Thessalonika last summer.

And when left-back Bernabei was signed from the Argentine first division in July 2022, former manager Ange Postecoglou was convinced to spend £3.75 million for him, with the player agreeing to a contract that would last until June 2027.

According to media sources in his home country, Palma has reportedly drawn interest from teams in Germany and France. Olympiakos is also keeping an eye on his status and has connected him to a return to Greece.

Brendan Rodgers has used the 24-year-old wide Bhoy rarely this season despite the fact that he scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in his rookie year.

Though he has only started two games since slipping from the manager’s radar, Palma entered the game as a late substitution for Daizen Maeda in the team’s 3-0 victory over St. Mirren over the weekend.

Rodgers may not be in a rush to make a deal right now, though, since the flashy touchline dancer is part of his Champions League squad and the Hoops manager has two games in Europe’s top league scheduled this month, against Switzerland’s Young Boys in Glasgow and Aston Villa in the Midlands.

There is still time to finalise a loan or permanent move because the window is open until Monday, February 3. The match against the English club is set for Thursday, January 29.

However, the Hoops administration does not want to let the player go for less than what was spent for him.

The same is true for Bernabei, whose loan deal with SC Nacional in Brazil ended two weeks ago.

The South American club has been negotiating a permanent change. The 24-year-old full-back, who was a standout during his season-long time at the Porto Allegre team and even contributed three goals, has shocked them with an asking price of £4.2 million.

Bernabei has no future with the champions, thus a “modified” price or another short-term transfer might be the solution.

However, the Parkhead club would much rather finish the story and receive the money they paid for him back.
