English and MLS clubs want Hearts’ Cammy Devlin with a transfer release fee

The number of suitors for the Australian internationalist is increasing.

According to the Edinburgh News, teams in America and England are showing interest in Hearts midfielder Cammy Devlin. The Australian international signed a new deal at Tynecastle Park just four months ago, and both MLS team New York City FC and English Championship team Portsmouth are interested in him.

Although Devlin’s contract expires in the summer of 2026, those vying for his services think they can employ a minimum-fee release provision. With a cash offer of just over £280,000, interested clubs are certain they could force the 26-year-old to leave Tynecastle Park.

Portsmouth is looking for a dynamic and aggressive midfield player to help them fight against English Championship relegation. Before the January transfer window ends, they will determine whether to formally make an offer after keeping an eye on Devlin for a while.

Devlin is ranked highly by New York City as a player who might improve their midfield for the next Major League Soccer season, which begins next month. Players leaving to make room in their squad will probably determine whether they pursue their interest in the Tynecastle player further.

Kye Rowles, Devlin’s teammate from Hearts and Australia, is expected to conclude a move to DC United in the next few days. If NYC makes a formal proposal, his fellow Socceroo would have the opportunity to join him in the United States. Arriving in Scotland from the Australian team Newcastle Jets in the summer of 2021, the small defensive midfielder immediately won over Hearts supporters.

Under head coach Neil Critchley, he has been playing well in recent weeks, and the coach would be very sad to lose him. Since Critchley’s appointment in mid-October, Devlin has made 28 appearances for the Edinburgh club this season and established himself as a consistent starter.
