The manager of Leicester City claimed that although he was informed that money would be available before the January transfer window, the team has only signed one player this month.

When questioned by the Leicester City board about transfer assistance, Ruud van Nistelrooy believed that pledges were being kept.

According to reports on Thursday, the manager of City is not thrilled with the club’s lack of transfer activity. They have only signed one player this January, Woyo Coulibaly, a right-back who cost £3 million to sign from Parma.

However, van Nistelrooy has not made any public indications that the club is not meeting its commitments or that there is a lack of funding. Prior to January, the Dutchman said that he had spoken with the club about transfers during his job interviews and that he had been informed that money was available.

However, the City is operating on a tight budget because of the Profit and Sustainability Rules, which are a concern for next seasons. Prior to saying that City’s operations must be sound for the team’s long-term survival, Van Nistelrooy stated over the weekend that they must “face reality.”

Van Nistelrooy responded, “Yeah, because we welcomed a new player (Coulibaly) in a position that we needed,” when asked if he was still receiving the backing from the team he had anticipated following the 2-0 loss to Fulham. James Justin is our sole right-back, and he must play every position.

“That’s a solid beginning. We are still searching for players to bolster the team as much as possible. You search for as many, of course. We must accept reality and act within the bounds of what is possible. We’re making a lot of effort to do so.

It would benefit City’s transfer business to move players on. For almost £10 million, they plan to transfer Tom Cannon to Sheffield United. Meanwhile, there are rumours that Crystal Palace would sell Odsonne Edouard, ending his loan and giving City a slot.
