Reflecting on the loss to Villa, Rodgers expressed pride in his squad.

Celtic Ready to Secure Cummings’ Future with New Contract

Adding to the positive news for Celtic supporters, the club is reportedly preparing to offer a new contract to promising young striker Daniel Cummings, who made his senior debut as a late substitute in the defeat to Aston Villa.

Widely regarded as one of the club’s top young talents, the 18-year-old has been in sensational form for Celtic’s B team this season, netting 25 goals in 26 appearances across all competitions.

Cummings’ impressive performances have attracted interest from European clubs such as Bologna, Club Brugge, and RB Salzburg, all of whom have recently scouted the young forward.

According to The Celtic Way, the Scottish champions are set to offer Cummings a long-term deal to fend off this growing interest and secure his future at Parkhead. With his current contract expiring at the end of the season, Cummings is free to negotiate with other clubs, but Celtic are expected to act quickly to keep him on board.

Earlier this year, The Young Team, a group known for identifying Scotland’s emerging talents, described Cummings as “too good for the Lowland League,” praising his “intelligent runs” and “spectacular finishes.”

Scotland Under-19 coach Neil MacFarlane also lauded Cummings’ progress back in November: “Daniel’s done really well. He’s been prolific in the Lowland League and even found the net in the UEFA Youth League. He’s added another dimension to Celtic’s attacking options, alongside several other standout young players at the club.”
