Joe Rodon was seen furiously confronting his Leeds United teammates for leaving too much space near their own goal, according to BBC Radio Leeds commentator Jonny Buchan.
Towards the end of the first half, Cardiff launched a counter-attack and nearly capitalized on a defensive lapse as a large gap opened up on the left side of the pitch.
Despite the brief scare, Leeds delivered a dominant display, thrashing relegation-threatened Cardiff 7-0, underscoring their strong intentions this season.
Commenting live on BBC Radio Leeds (1 February, 15:45 pm), Buchan described Rodon’s reaction:
“Did you see that? Rodon and a few others went absolutely berserk for allowing Cardiff that much space on the left,” he remarked.
Leeds United’s Promotion Push Gains Momentum
Leeds entered the 2024/25 season laser-focused on reclaiming their Premier League spot after narrowly missing out last year. Their current form reflects that ambition, as they sit atop the league and showcased their superiority in the 7-0 demolition of Cardiff on Saturday.
With the winter transfer window still open for a few more days, some fans have called for reinforcements. However, Daniel Farke’s side appears to be in a strong position even without new signings.
While certain areas, like the striker role, could use depth, if players like Dan James and Manor Solomon maintain their current form, Leeds should be well-equipped to secure promotion without further additions.
