Even though he isn’t in the Rangers lineup, he is displaying quality with the “B” squad.
A Rangers misfit who is still being excluded from the senior side at Ibrox is excelling for the “B” team.
After failing to secure a transfer away from Ibrox in the summer, Ianis Hagi has not made an appearance for the Premiership club on league business this season. He returned to Rangers ahead of the preseason after spending the previous season on loan at Alaves, and he is currently without a job.
Hagi was named in the starting lineup for a ‘B’ team game against Huddersfield Town at the Rangers Training Centre, alongside summer acquisition Clinton Nsiala and a trialist. And in the 3-2 draw, he was a shining light for the home team, contributing an assist and scoring a spectacular free-kick goal.
Findlay Curtis was found by his floated cross from the right, and he sent Rangers ahead before Huddersfield Town levelled things out before halftime and then took their place going into the dressing room.
Rangers’ Hagi levelled the score by hitting the top corner on a deadball scenario. “Rangers are awarded another free-kick on the edge of the Huddersfield box following a foul on Nsio,” the club’s academy and “B” team tweeted. Hagi advances and strikes the upper corner with a drill.
In the ninetieth minute, he scored the game-winning goal with a low drive to complete the victory. Speaking during Hagi’s summer, Clement declared: “Nothing new has happened. We had a very candid conversation about that with him and his agency months ago. That for the next few years, we don’t see him replacing No. 10 for the Rangers, so we should keep an eye out for additional ways to keep the narrative unchanged.
With Bajrami in the premises, this condition is undoubtedly present. I won’t mention these things right now, but we will see those things in the future—whether reintegration is possible or not.”
