Prior to the January transfer window, the same Premier League striker is reportedly being pursued by Fulham and Brentford.
Prior to the January transfer window, Brentford and Fulham are rumoured to be interested in a deal for a Premier League striker. It’s no secret that the Bees lost Ivan Toney during the summer, and although Ivor Thiago was signed as a replacement, the big-money addition has already been sidelined by injury.
Now that Carlos Vinicius is out with an injury, Fulham is mostly depending on Raul Gimenez, though Rodrigo Muniz is also an option. Brentford may be compelled to return to the market to provide more competition up top.
In January, both London teams might try to bring in a new striker, and Callum Wilson of Newcastle United might be let go. Since Alexander Isak arrived at St. James’ Park, Wilson has found it difficult to maintain an advantage over him, and he has had trouble this season due to a back issue.
There has been much discussion about Newcastle improving on Wilson, and Jhon Duran of Aston Villa is being connected. Although Duran was strongly connected to Chelsea throughout the summer, the move fell through, and he continued to play for Villa, having an incredible start to the season.
Even with their problems with sustainability and profit, Villa might be much less amenable to a Duran sale come January. A lot will depend on whether or not Villa is still in the Champions League and whether they are on track to place in the top four once again. They might have more financial independence as a result of their performance because there may be more prize money available.
Wilson may be available for Newcastle to offload in January, according to The Sun, and Brentford and Fulham are reportedly interested in a transfer. According to reports from the summer, the Magpies required about £15 million in order to approve a deal. However, considering that the England international’s contract expires in the summer, things could alter in the winter transfer window, making Newcastle’s negotiation position weaker.
Howe regarding Wilson’s future
“If you lose a player of that quality, to find a player of equal standard will cost the club a lot of money,” Howe responded when asked about Wilson’s future in the summer.
The Magpies manager recently stated, “He is 100 percent committed to NUFC,” in reference to the striker’s fitness and present circumstances. We want to keep him, and we want two strikers who are healthy. It’s been an odd one, full with much conjecture, much of it unwarranted. We are eager to get our two attackers back to full fitness because he plays a critical role in what we do.
“He appears well and is very close to making a comeback. I don’t want to lose him in the slightest. He gives every discussion his whole attention. He is not searching in any other direction [at another club]. We want to keep him here because he has tremendous goals, but there are some factors beyond our control. The club is operating [with the club’s long-term interests] in mind because they must. See what transpires.
